Home Campus Integration

What the Home Campus integration does

Home Campus is a school-wide schedule source. Once you connect it, FanAngel Connect reads the athletic schedule your school already publishes through Home Campus and pulls those games onto your teams automatically. Connected sources are re-checked every night, so you set this up once instead of maintaining schedules in two places.

Home Campus is different from the other schedule sources in one important way:

  • MaxPreps, Athletic.net and TrackWrestling are connected one team at a time.
  • Home Campus is connected once for the whole school, and then each subteam is mapped to a Home Campus sport and level.

That makes Home Campus a good fit for the teams and activities the other sources do not cover well, such as middle school and elementary teams, competitive cheer, surf, ASB and other activities.

Before you start

  • You need administrator access to your school in FanAngel Connect.
  • You need the URL of the page on your own school website that displays your athletic schedule calendar, for example https://www.yourschool.org/athletics/athletic-schedules . This is the page with the embedded Home Campus calendar you maintain, not the Home Campus site itself.

Step 1: Open the Integrations tab

Go to your school settings and select the Integrations tab.

Scroll to the Home Campus Schedule Integration panel. Before setup it reads Not connected.

Step 2: Connect your schedule page

  1. Paste your school's athletics schedule page URL into School athletics schedule page URL.
  2. Click Save. Saving checks that page for a Home Campus schedule and can take up to 15 seconds.

When it succeeds, the status changes to Connected and three new buttons appear: Refresh sports & levels, Re-sync schedules and Disconnect.

If it does not connect: the most common cause is pasting the Home Campus website address instead of your school's own schedule page. Use the page on your school site where the calendar is embedded.

Step 3: Pull in your sports and levels

Click Refresh sports & levels. This pulls the list of sports and levels that exist in your Home Campus calendar into FanAngel Connect so they are available to map.

Schedules themselves come later. They sync automatically every night. If you want the games right away, click Re-sync schedules.

Step 4: Review the Schedule Sources list

Scroll down to Schedule Sources. This lists every subteam in your school and where its games come from. Click Expand all to see them all at once.

Many teams map to Home Campus automatically after the refresh. Here is how to read a row:

  • Schedule syncing or Schedule and scores syncing: the team is connected and games are being pulled.
  • Mapped — backup: the team is already connected to MaxPreps, Athletic.net or TrackWrestling, and its Home Campus mapping is saved as a fallback. Home Campus lists the same games as those sources, so only the other source is actually fetched.
  • Not connected / Nothing connected: no source is set for that subteam and no games will appear.

You do not need to remove a team's MaxPreps, Athletic.net or TrackWrestling connection when you turn on Home Campus. Leave them. The team-level source wins, and Home Campus quietly stands by as the backup.

Step 5: Map the teams that did not match automatically

Team names in FanAngel Connect do not always match Home Campus naming, so some rows will not map on their own. A team named "Elem Volleyball" in Connect, for example, is "Elem Volleyball, Girls" at the "Elementary" level in Home Campus. Those rows show Not connected and take a few seconds to fix.

  1. Click Connect on the subteam row. The Schedule data sources window opens.
  2. In the Home Campus section, open the Sport dropdown and pick the matching Home Campus sport. Type in the search box to filter the list.
  3. Pick the matching Level, for example Varsity, Junior Varsity, MS or Elementary. A level is required. Without one you will see "Pick a level to sync this sport from Home Campus."
  4. Click Save.

The row now shows the Home Campus sport and level it is mapped to, along with a Schedule syncing badge.

Team not in the Sport list? The list only contains sports that exist in your Home Campus calendar. If a team is missing, it has probably not been added in Home Campus yet. Add it there, then come back and click Refresh sports & levels again.

The same window is also where you connect MaxPreps for a team, by pasting that team's MaxPreps schedule URL. You can connect both. Only the MaxPreps schedule is fetched, and the Home Campus mapping stays saved as a fallback.

How often schedules update

  • Connected sources are re-checked every night, automatically.
  • Re-sync schedules pulls games immediately instead of waiting for the nightly run.
  • Refresh sports & levels updates the list of available Home Campus sports and levels. Run it after adding a new sport or level in Home Campus.
  • Disconnect removes the school-wide Home Campus connection.

Troubleshooting

The connection saves but no sports appear

Check that the URL points to the page on your school website where the Home Campus calendar is embedded, and that the calendar loads for a visitor who is not signed in. Then click Refresh sports & levels.

A team shows Not connected after the refresh

Its name did not match anything in Home Campus. Map it by hand using Step 5.

A team is mapped but no games appear yet

Schedules arrive on the nightly sync. Click Re-sync schedules if you do not want to wait. If games still do not appear, confirm that sport and level actually has games posted in Home Campus.

A team shows "Mapped — backup" and I expected Home Campus games

That team is also connected to MaxPreps, Athletic.net or TrackWrestling, and that source takes priority. This is expected. The two sources list the same games, so connecting both would be redundant.

Scores are not syncing from Home Campus

Home Campus provides schedules. Rows that read Schedule and scores syncing are getting scores from a different source, such as MaxPreps.
